If you're planning to have a baby or are already pregnant, then you should seriously consider quitting for the health of your unborn child. 

We all know that women puts on weight when they are pregnant, that is because the weight and the growing size of the fetus adding on to the original weight and size of the mother. Studies have shown that babies of women who smoke weigh lesser then the babies of non-smokers. The more you smoke during your pregnancy the lesser your baby will weigh. This is because when the mother smoke, whatever harmful substances the mother takes in will also be passed to the unborn baby causing the incomplete development of the baby. Therefore smoking  increases the nicotine level in the baby and causes the oxygen level to drop. Oxygen is an vital substance for cells development and growth. In another words, if you smokes when you are pregnant,  your baby will not be able to develop properly including the brain cells, so you can't blame your child for not doing well in their studies in the future because you are the one who hindered the development of the brain.

Studies have also revealed that smoking mothers have a higher incidents of miscarriage. And children of smoking mothers are more likely to die of sudden infant death syndrome, or crib death.

We have heard a lot of stories about dying mothers or mothers suffering from certain diseases and are not able to take care of their children.  Smoking increases the risk of you getting diseases and illness therefore shortening your lifespan.
